Our Made To Order program is currently on pause.

As part of our ongoing focus on Australian manufacturing and artisanal craft, we are continuously reviewing processes at our iconic Adelaide workshop.

The Made To Order service is currently paused and undergoing a complete review to improve the experience for customers, and determine the best possible way for this program to return in the future. As a result, we are not currently accepting new orders for Made To Order products, except for our exotics range, including crocodile and ostrich leathers, which will remain available to purchase.

The pricing variations you may have noticed on our websites can be attributed to several factors. These include the rising cost of raw materials such as leather, the cost of our manufacturing (most of which takes place on Australian shores), exchange rate pressures and import duty arrangements all play into these pricing variations.

In doing so, we can continue to ensure the same high quality product that we are renowned for, as well as maintaining the wellbeing and effective operation of our teams, production partners and sources of raw materials.

We’re also employing more Australians than ever before and will continue to grow this number as we honour our commitment to onshore manufacturing.

Our Homestead team is available Monday to Friday throughout the year, excluding public holidays in NSW, Australia. Please find the list of public holidays in NSW below:

No, not all leather types are recommended for debossing. The best results are typically achieved on full grain or smooth solid hide leather, as they allow for a cleaner and more defined impression.

For example, suede is not recommended due to its soft, velvety nap, which can make it difficult to achieve a clear and lasting impression. Pull-up leather is also less suited to debossing because of its high oil and wax content. When heat and pressure are applied during the debossing process, these oils can move within the leather, creating colour variations around the impression and resulting in a less defined or consistent finish.

Personalisation is available at selected R.M.Williams stores, including Jermyn St, New Bond Street, Soho, Marlow, Cambridge, Bath, Edinburgh, and Guildford.

No appointment is needed. Simply visit your nearest store offering personalisation and speak with a team member, who will confirm the estimated completion time for your item.

Personalisation is free on eligible R.M.Williams products in the UK.

Yes. Personalisation is generally limited to 7-8 characters, depending on the width of the letters and symbols selected. Wider characters, such as W and M, may reduce the number of characters that can fit.

Yes. In addition to letters, you can choose from a range of special characters and symbols, including:

&, ", ', ,, and -

You can also choose from the R.M.Williams boot icon and Cloudbuster icon.

Debossing is available in blind (no colour, leaving an imprint in the leather), gold foil and silver foil.

Currently, we have two fonts available, Serif and Sans Serif.

Due to the size and configuration of the machine, we are only able to offer a single line of debossing.

It can vary slightly depending on the material and product being debossed. Our aim is to create a clean, clearly visible impression while maintaining the integrity and quality of the leather. As leather is a natural material, the final result may vary slightly from product to product.

Debossing is done by hand, so slight variations between impressions are normal. Differences in heat, pressure and the natural characteristics of the leather can all influence the final result, meaning no two debosses will look the same. These variations are part of the unique nature and craftsmanship of the debossing process.

Yes, over time the foil colouring may fade with regular use and wear. This is a normal characteristic of foil debossing and forms part of the natural ageing process of the product. The rate of fading will vary depending on how frequently the item is used and the conditions it is exposed to. Likewise for blind debossing (without foil or colour), the impression may soften slightly over time with regular use and wear.
