Mother’s Day Wishlist, with Teresa Palmer

Teresa Palmer, actress, businesswoman and mother-of-five would really like a sleep-in. Indeed Palmer, who splits her time between her home in the Adelaide Hills —complete with dogs, horses and more— and Los Angeles, lists a lie-in as one of her most wished-for items this Mother’s Day.

Palmer, who stars in a Mother’s Day shoot for R.M.Williams on her property in Adelaide, says motherhood has definitely influenced her style.

“I’m definitely into things that aren’t fussy, I love a loose blouse that makes nursing out and about easy. I’ve been loving wearing cute patterned bikini/bra blends under my clothes and a big scrunchy in my hair. I’m so time poor having 5 kids, a business and working in the film/tv world that fashion for me means finding what look is going to be the cutest, quickest and simplest to put on,” she says.

This year, like all years, Palmer says Mother’s Day for her family is about spending quality time together, and connection—albeit always with a little twist.

“Mother’s Day every year is a surprise! My hubby plans the day with the kids and it always looks a little different. It usually involves delicious food, often served up on a picnic rug, lots of homemade thoughtful gifts and surrounded by nature. Oh and perhaps my favourite of all, a looong sleep in!”

The sense of keeping things simple, meaningful and special in a busy and full life extends to Palmer’s ultimate Mother’s Day wish list. High on the list? Versatile pieces that will work with everything, no matter what the day holds and little indulgences that are good for mind, body and spirit. Oh, and a really good wide brim hat.
